Preaching Preaching at the Cathedral Church of the Advent focuses on the gospel in every sermon. Join us on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. via livestream as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Music Dynamic and engaging music ministries provide many opportunities throughout the year to engage with sacred music and modern musicians in downtown Birmingham. Home to the Cathedral Choir and Advent Birmingham , the Advent offers programs for everyone. Christian Education The Advent creates space for the word of God to do the work of God every Sunday through Christian Education programs for all ages. From children in the nursery through adults of all ages, our classes help everyone discover Jesus Christ and the transforming love of his gospel. Small Groups The Advent’s small groups ministry helps make our large church feel smaller. Groups gather between Sundays to study the Bible, pray together, and develop bonds of friendship that help all involved know the grace of our Lord.
